The hardest part of any workout, whether you are just beginning or have a well established routine, is often just getting started. .
Before I started working out, I would say I was going to start and never would do it. Excuses of time, cost, scheduling, kids, etc would be used. But even when I blocked those excuses and said I would start with a walk, I would be so slow to tie up those shoes and get out the door. Once I got started on the walk, it was easy. I enjoyed it. .
Even now there are some days where I could use all those same excuses as before to not get a workout in. There are some days I am still slow to tie up the sneakers. But I do it. I hit play on my workout or actually go for that run. And no matter how hard that workout may be, on those days, just getting started was the hardest part. Is it hard to get started everyday? Hell no. Most days I look forward to it. But there are still those days where I’m just dragging and not feeling it. But the days where it’s hard to start, are the days I feel most accomplished when the workout is over. Because I showed up. And showing up can be the hardest step. .
One of the things I love most about coaching and being in an online accountability group it’s encouraging others and being encouraged by others to show up and get started. Because once you start, it does get easier!
